Our Story

From frustration
to innovation.

HeyCharge started when our founders experienced firsthand the challenge of charging an EV without a private garage. Living in an apartment building with underground parking, they discovered that installing a charger meant navigating impossible infrastructure requirements.

The solution? Build charging infrastructure that doesn't need any infrastructure. No internet. No network cables. No SIM cards. Just Bluetooth, cryptography, and a radically simple approach.

Today, HeyCharge powers charging for thousands of EV drivers across Europe and the US, proving that apartment dwellers deserve the same easy charging experience as homeowners.

Chris Cardé

Founder & CEO

Chris founded HeyCharge to address a structural flaw in EV charging: too much infrastructure cost, too much fragility, and too little security.

His background spans software, automotive R&D, and energy. He worked at Google, advanced vehicle electrification at Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America, contributed to early EV research at the UC Davis Hybrid Electric Vehicle Center, and operated inside the utility world at E.ON.

He has seen electrification from lab bench to grid edge. At HeyCharge, he blends deep technical fluency with commercial execution — building patented technology that reduces infrastructure cost, removes connectivity dependency, and positions the company as a foundational platform layer in EV charging.
